| Spanish abstract | Reportamos los primeros registros formales del colibrí barba negra (Archilochus alexandri) para el estado de Querétaro, México. Estos registros corresponden a tres sitios: el Parque Nacional El Cimatario, el Parque Nacional Cerro de las Campanas y un remanente de vegetación (dentro de la ciudad); donde observamos a la especie durante la migración, en 2014 y hasta el 2017. El colibrí barba negra visitó flores de muérdago (Psittacanthus calyculatus), flores de palo bobo (Ipomoea murucoides) y flores de espuela de caballero (Justicia candicans). Esta información confirma la presencia del colibrí barba negra en el estado de Querétaro y apoya su inclusión en el listado de avifauna de Querétaro |
| English abstract | We report the first records of the Black-chinned hummingbird (Archilochus alexandri) for the State of Queretaro, Mexico. These records correspond to three sites, The Parque Nacional El Cimatario, The Parque Nacional Cerro de las Campanas and a remnant of vegetation inside the city; where we observed the species during its migratory season, from 2014 and until 2017. The Black-chinned Hummingbird visited mistletoe flowers (Psittacanthus calyculatus), morning glory flowers (Ipomoea murucoides) and red justicia flowers (Justicia candicans). This information confirms the presence of the Black-chinned Hummingbird in the State of Queretaro and supports its inclusion in the list of avifauna of Queretaro |
