| English abstract | The consequences of the expansion of the 'corporate food regime' (McMichael, 2016) have given rise to countermovements that combine a civic critique, based on the social demands for equity, justice, social participation and sustainability. These values have legitimized the action of different social movements that are guided by the flags of the agroecology and food sovereignty. This article analyzes the strategies of alternative market networking mobilized by the Landless Workers Movement (MST) in the city of Porto Alegre, Brazil. The research was conducted in 2016 and 2017, through interviews and direct observation. The results demonstrate, on the one hand, the expansion of numerous 'civic food networks' and, on the other, the endogenization of the ethic critique by the dominant actors, implying a complex dynamic of hybridization between conventional and alternative markets |
| Portuguese abstract | As consequências da expansão do "regime alimentar corporativo" (McMichael, 2016) têm suscitado contramovimentos que conjugam uma crítica cívica, cujo fundamento encontra-se nas demandas societárias por equidade, justiça, participação social e sustentabilidade. Estes valores têm legitimado a ação de diferentes movimentos sociais que se orientam pelas bandeiras da agroecologia e da soberania alimentar. O presente artigo analisa as estratégias de construção de mercados alternativos pelo Movimento dos Trabalhadores Rurais Sem Terra (MST) no município de Porto Alegre, Brasil. A pesquisa foi realizada em 2016 e 2017, por meio de entrevistas e observação direta. Os resultados apontam, por um lado, para a expansão de inúmeras “redes alimentares cívicas” e, por outro, para a endogeneização desta crítica pelos atores dominantes, o que implica em uma complexa dinâmica de hibridização entre mercados convencionais e alternativos |
