English abstract | We point out approximations and distinctions between the theories of pangenesis and of chromosomes, which characterize the former as an undeveloped stage of the latter. The chromosome theory is supported by a huge amount of empirical evidence and by a solid and coherent theoretical frame. The phenomena related to inheritance and transmission are better explained by this scientific model. Nevertheless, questions related to the maintenance of stability and to development have not yet been fully understood |
