| Spanish abstract | En este trabajo trataré la cuestión del dominio de aplicación de la teoría de la selección natural. La tesis principal es que tal dominio no es universal en el sentido tradicional. En una primera instancia haré un tratamiento general de la cuestión, discutiendo acerca la teoría de la selección natural que se utiliza en biología actualmente. Posteriormente trataré la cuestión tal como era concebida por Darwin. Finalmente, señalaré cómo lo restringido del dominio de aplicación de dicha teoría invita a afrontar la tarea de reconstruirla utilizando herramientas proporcionadas por algunas de las metateorías semanticistas por sobre herramientas más clásicas |
| English abstract | In this work I will discuss the question of natural selection's domain of application. The main thesis is that this domain is not universal in the traditional sense. First I will deal with this question in a general way, discussing the theory of natural selection as it is used by current biology. Then I will discuss it within the view of natural selection as it was originally conceived by Darwin. Finally, I will point out the fact that the domain of application's restrictiveness of this theory leads us to its reconstruction with the semantic view of theories rather than classics tools |
