| English abstract | The aim of this article is to analyze the relation between philology and German classicism in the work of Nietzsche. Two theories are introduced here and are then clarified and justified: 1) Nietzsche attempts to provide, in The Birth of tragedy, a philological contribution concerning the aesthetic theory of the German classicism; 2) in this attempt, he follows a philological tradition, which he uses as a source. In order to approach this subject, the legacy of Paul Graf Yorck von Wartenburg and the influence he had on Nietzsche’s work is taken into account |
| Portuguese abstract | Pretende-se com este artigo analisar a relação entre filologia e classicismo alemão. Duas teses são aqui introduzidas para serem, em seguida, esclarecidas e justificadas: 1) Nietzsche tenta fornecer, no Nascimento da tragédia, uma contribuição filológica acerca da teoria estética do classicismo alemão; 2) ele segue, nessa tentativa, uma tradição filológica, que lhe serve como fonte. Para tratar do assunto em questão, é analisada a herança de Paul Graf Yorck von Wartenburg e a influência que este teve para a obra de Nietzsche |
