| English abstract | Black Mirror, an anthological and science fiction series, became popular on the Internet for its clever and unprecedented approach to how the misuse of technology can ruin human relationships and aggravate the individual's malaise. Pleasant and uncomfortable, the current episode, Arkangel, addresses the dilemma of postmodernity with the narcissistic and manipulative peculiarities of human nature within parental relationships. In this article we discuss the typical case of an overprotective mother who disguises the desire for power under a thin shell of concern and care for her only daughter, and the implosive unfoldment that this can result, in the light of Alfred Adler, Donald Winnicott, Michel Foucault and Sigmund Freud |
| Portuguese abstract | A série antológica de ficção científica Black Mirror popularizou-se na Internet pela abordagem inteligente e inédita de como o mau uso da tecnologia pode arruinar as relações humanas e agravar o mal-estar do indivíduo. Prazeroso e desconfortável, o episódio em estudo – Arkangel – aborda o dilema da pós-modernidade com as peculiaridades narcísicas e manipuladoras da natureza humana dentro das relações parentais. Neste artigo abordamos o típico caso de uma mãe superprotetora que disfarça o desejo de poder sob uma fina casca de preocupação e cuidado com sua única filha, e o desdobramento implosivo que disso pode resultar, à luz de Alfred Adler, Donald Winnicott, Michel Foucault e Sigmund Freud |
