English abstract | The goal of this study is to devise an approach to the life and work of the Venezuelan writer Miyó Vestrini as a body and a language that are marked by eccentricity and that configure a poetics/politics of appeasement and defect. This poetics/politics is resistant to models of restraint and discipline. Through an examination of select literary scenes of suffering, I want to analyze how pain is incarnated –in– text to become body and language. Loss can then be viewed as a form of semantic excess, an overflowing of meaning that gives rise to a textual body where illness, discomfort, desire, passion, and death all have a place, not only as states of a tragic existence but also and above all as states of language |
