| Spanish abstract | Aunque la reciente inmigración argentina en España no puede desligarse del proceso de deterioro económico, social, político e ideológico que ha afectado a Argentina en los últimos treinta años, buena parte de los inmigrantes que han llegado a España tras las crisis del 2001 incorporan unas características y demandas particulares, aquellas que son propias de las clases medias que han constituido y definido al país durante todo el siglo XX. La creciente segmentación étnica y precarización del mercado de trabajo español sitúa a esta población en puestos generalmente descualificados y precarios y, por ende, en una situación de difícil inserción sociolaboral, que ralentiza o impide el cumplimiento de las expectativas generadas en el proyecto migratorio. Para entender el éxito o fracaso de las trayectorias laborales en destino se han de tener en cuenta las especificidades territoriales de los mercados de trabajo, en conjunción con los proyectos migratorios y las situaciones de vulnerabilidad, entre las cuales se cuenta la propia condición de inmigrante. De la amalgama de estos factores, pasados por el tamiz de las aspiraciones de progreso económico, social y educacional de la clase media, han resultado una serie de proyectos inconclusos o frustrados, acompañados de movimientos de retorno |
| English abstract | If you stop to think about it, we lost. The life stories and unsuccessful expectations of Argentinean immigration in Spain.- Although the recent Argentinean immigration in Spain can not be separated from the process of economic, social, political and ideological decline that has affected Argentina in the last thirty years, most of the immigrants that have arrived to Spain after the 2001 crisis carry specific characteristics and demands. These are typical of the middle class that has defined the country throughout the 20th century. The increasing ethnic division and the worsening of the employment situation in the Spanish labour market places this part of the population in jobs that are usually unskilled and unstable and therefore hinder their employment and social insertion. This situation slows down or deters the expectations created during the migration project from being achieved. In order to understand the success or failure of the employment paths that take place in the host country, the labour markets’ specific territorial nature must be taken into account, as well as the migration projects and the situations of vulnerability among which we find the own alien status. As a result of the amalgam of these factors, filtered by the expectations of economic, social and educational progress of the middle class, a number of incomplete and unsuccessful projects have taken place, as well as a number of return trips |
