| Spanish abstract | En los años sesenta, Germani utilizó los patrones residenciales como llave para explicar la rápida asimilación de los inmigrantes a la sociedad argentina. Pese a servir de catalizador a una frondosa producción, esta inquietud pocas veces avanzó más allá de la región pampeana y del límite impuesto por la clausura del ciclo inmigratorio masivo. Por esta razón, Neuquén constituye un interesante lugar desde donde observar los patrones habitacionales des-plegados en ciudades que tuvieron su hora de crecimiento con la difusión del recetario desarrollista. No se trata de examinar esta problemática de forma aislada, sin contemplar las relaciones que mantuvo con otros factores de gran valor explicativo. En el dialogo entre lugar de nacimiento, ocupación y la ecología urbana neuquina encontramos un medio para explorar las relaciones entre lo macro y lo micro desde un novedoso lugar. Apartados del tentador impulso de generalizar a partir del estudio de una red, intentaremos individualizar las condiciones que sirvieron de sustrato a la acción de los individuos que las integraban. Con este objetivo general describiremos, en primer lugar, el paisaje urbano neuquino en el período 1970-1990. En una segunda parte, presentaremos un esbozo de los asentamientos de los migrantes en un esfuerzo por comprender la ecología urbana neuquina para aquel período. Por último, abordaremos la segregación y centralización espacial, analizando el impacto que en esos indicadores tuvieron el estrato social y el lugar de origen |
| English abstract | Migration and residential patterns in «aluvional» Neuquén (1970-1990) - In the 1960’s, Gino Germani used residential patterns as a key to explain the fast assimilation of immigrants into the argentine society. Despite the fact that his work was catalyst for a very important production, reseach on the subject did not go beyond the Pampa region and the limits imposed by the mass immigration cycle. For this reason, Neuquén is an interesting place from which it is possible to observe the residential patterns developed in villages that had their highest growth with the diffusion of ideas of the development theories, while simultaneously considering other highly valued explanatory factors. In the interplay among place of birth, occupation and urban ecology in Neuquén, we find a new way of exploring the relations between macro and micro levels. Refraining from the temptatioon to generalize on the basis of only one network study, we will try to single out the conditions underlying the action of its individual members. Responding to this general objective, we will describe, firstly, the urban landscape of Neuquén in the period between 1970 and 1990. Secondly, we will present an outline of immigrant settlement to understand the urban ecology of Neuquén during that period. Finally, we will study spatial segregation and centralization, analyzing the impact of social strata and place of origin on these indicators |
