| English abstract | The article analizes the key moments of the Chilean-Argentininan arbitral award process for the Patagonia between the years 1898 and 1902 and the territorial and political impact of Rey Eduardo VII laudo on the governments of Presidents Roca and Riesco. The sources used for the making of the manuscript consist of, mainly, the Chilean press (El Magallanes de Punta Arenas, El Mercurio de Santiago) and the Argentinian press (La Prensa de Buenos Aires), Minute of the Chilean Congress Meetings, documents obtained from the Historic General Archives of the Chilean Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Chilean Navy Historic Archives |
