| Spanish abstract | El articulo plantea que las históricas discrepancias políticas internas en Estados Unidos frente al problema del cambio climático, ha significado que esta potencia ha ido cediendo el liderazgo mundial en este importante tema de la agenda pública internacional. Esta situación estaría siendo aprovechada por China que, como potencia global en ascenso, ha decidido disputar el liderazgo mundial en la lucha contra el cambio climático, bajo el ejercicio de lo que se considera el uso del poder blando en Relaciones Internacionales. Esta pérdida de liderazgo en el tema del cambio climático es vista con preocupación por políticos y analistas estadounidenses que consideran que se está afectando de manera importante el poder blando del país, lo que podría terminar afectando las intenciones de preminencia y hegemonía de Estados Unidos en el orden internacional durante este siglo XXI |
| English abstract | The article states that the historical internal political discrepancies in the United States facing the problem of climate change have meant that this power has been giving up world leadership on this important issue on the international public agenda. This situation would be taken advantage of by China, which, as a rising global power, has decided to dispute the world leadership in the fight against climate change, under the exercise of what is considered the use of soft power in International Relations. This loss of leadership on the issue of climate change is viewed with concern by US politicians and analysts who believe that the soft power of the country is being significantly affected, which could end up affecting the intentions of pre-eminence and hegemony of the United States in the international order during this 21st century |
