| Spanish abstract | Pedro Lemebel es uno de los artistas más prolíficos de la llamada transición a la democracia en Chile. Su obra literaria es ampliamente conocida y ha sido estudiada por investigadores alrededor del mundo. Sus proyectos de performance, sin embargo, no han recibido la misma atención. En este artículo analizolas dos últimas performances de Pedro Lemebel: Desnudo bajando la escalera(febrero 2014) y Abecedario(junio 2014). El artículo argumenta que el neoprén (el pegamento volátil neopreno) funciona en el contexto de las performances como materialidad intertextual que vincula y entrelaza las acciones pasadas del artista con la acción presente para proyectarla hacia el futuro. En el contexto del último año de vida del artista, la táctica intertextual cobra relevancia y sentido. | English abstract | Pedro Lemebel is one of the most prolific artists in the so called Chilean transition to democracy. His literary works have been vastly known and studied by researchers around the world. His performance work, however, has not received the same attention. In this article, I analyze Pedro Lemebel’s two last performances:Desnudo bajando la escalera(February 2014) y Abecedario(June 2014). The article affirms the neorprene (the volatile glue) workin the performances as an intertextual materiality that relates and intertwinesthe artist’s past art actions to project them to the future.In the context of the last year of the artist, the intertextual tactic becomes relevant and acquires another sense.
