| English abstract | The recent archaeological revaluation of the only known mummifiedre mains from the Cementerio Las Turquesas site, links its bioanthropological and material contexts to the nearby residentia land turquoise mining site of Mina Las Turquesas, recently excavated. Fieldwork there provided evidence of along-span preinkasettlement,and our appraisal reaffirms this on the basis of the recentlyundertaken cultural adscription of human remains, that has allowedus to posit that both sites were part of the economically and rituallysignificative Atacameño sphere of interaction, fundamentally withinthe Late Intermediate Period |
