| English abstract | Amnesty has not materialized in Brazil. It is still in a constant construction and much remains to be done in order to find the truth and make sense of the struggle of the heroes of the resistance. The reconciliation between Brazil and its history is not possible while the dictatorship ́s files are not opened, while we not know how, where and when oc-curred the crimes that shattered so many families and marked so many people throu-ghout their lives, while Brazil does not obey the decision of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and many other sentences that are coming, while, finally, Brazil is not aware that it must obey to the international treaties and documents of which it is a signatory, whi-ch recognize torture as a common crime and indefeasible: a crime against humanity |

Ela ainda está em uma cons-tante construção e ainda há muito a ser fei-to para que possamos encontrar a Verdade e dar sentido à luta dos heróis da resistência. A reconciliação do Brasil com sua história não será possível enquanto não forem abertos os arquivos da ditadura; enquanto não se souber como, onde e quando ocorreram os crimes que despedaçaram tantas famílias e marcaram tanta gente, por toda a vida; enquanto o país não obedecer à decisão da Corte Interameri-cana de Direitos Humanos e às muitas outras condenações que estão por vir; enquanto, en-fim, o Brasil não se conscientizar que deve obediência aos tratados e documentos interna-cionais dos quais é signatário, que reconhecem a tortura como um crime comum e imprescri-tível; um crime de lesa-humanidade |
