| Spanish abstract | El presente artículo tiene como objeto describir, en el contexto de las acciones que ejecuta el Ejército, el aporte que realiza en situaciones de emergencias y desastres naturales. Para tales efectos, se aborda en primera instancia el marco jurídico en torno al cual actúa la institución, y luego la contribución que se ha efectuado en las distintas circunstancias en las que Chile se ha visto azotado por este tipo de fenómenos. Mención especial se hace respecto al reciente terremoto y maremoto que sufrió el país en febrero de 2010 |
| English abstract | This article attempts to describe, in the context of the actions carried out by the Army, the contribution made in emergencies and natural disasters. For this purpose, it first addresses the legal framework around which the institution operates, then the contribution that has been made in the various circumstances in which Chile has been hit by this kind of phenomenon. Special mention is made of the recent earthquake and subsequent tsunami that hit the country on February 27, 2010 |
