| Spanish abstract | En este artículo se trabajan las características de la estructura del comercio exterior en las últimas dos décadas, presentando la relevancia de las exportaciones no tradicionales. Se comienza por mostrar el soporte teórico del comercio internacional. Luego se presenta cómo el TLC se convierte en la opción para volver permanente las preferencias unilaterales de los EEUU, donde son los sectores ya beneficiados por el ATPDEA los que van a mantener sus privilegios, ante el posible rezago de otros sectores sensibles como los intensivos en capital y la agricultura. Por último, se hace hincapié en la necesidad de un modelo de desarrollo industrial acorde con las condiciones estructurales de los territorios en el país |
| English abstract | This article studies the characteristics of the foreign trade structure in the last two decades, by presenting the relevance of the non-traditional exports. It begins with the theoretical support of the international trade. Then, it presents how the Free Trade Agreement (FTA), becomes the option to permanently return to the unilateral preferences of the U.S.A., where the sectors already benefited by the Andean Trade Promotion and Drug Eradication Act (ATPDEA) are going to keep their privileges, in front of other sensible sectors like those intensive in capital and agriculture left behind. Finally, it insists on the necessity of an industrial development model in agreement with the structural conditions of the territories in the country |
