| English abstract | This study aims to illustrate how occurs the lexicographical treatment of verbal regency in Houaiss (2001). Based on Perini (2001) we discuss the verbal regency concept and expose it from the portuguese entries rondar and beber in the dictionary under study. Our first results show that the lack of clarity of syntactical description offered by Hou (2001) reflects the terminological and conceptual diversity that currently permeates linguistic studies in Brazil |
| Portuguese abstract | Este estudo pretende exemplificar como ocorre o tratamento lexicográfico da regência verbal no Houaiss (2001). Com base na proposta de Perini (2001), discutimos o conceito de regência para em seguida expor os verbetes rondar e beber presentes no dicionário em estudo. Nossos primeiros resultados demonstram que pouca clareza da descrição sintática oferecida por Hou (2001) é reflexo da diversidade terminológico-conceitual que atualmente permeia os estudos linguísticos no Brasil |
