| Spanish abstract | El método biográfico empleado en este texto, tiene como propósito, analizar la historia de vida de Socorro Bastida, a través de la cual, es posible revelar datos biográficos, antecedentes familiares, las escuelas donde cursó sus estudios, las compañías dancísticas en las que bailó, y la razón por la cual decidió convertirse en bailarina profesional, a pesar de las trabas familiares y prejuicios del siglo XX. Así también, será posible conocer las escuelas más importantes de danza del siglo XX y los protagonistas de diferentes proyectos dancísticos del siglo XX y XXI, a partir de la convivencia de Socorro Bastida con bailarines, docentes y coreógrafos que han marcado camino en la historia de la danza en México. Entre las fuentes de información que se emplearon para la elaboración de este documento, están algunas entrevistas realizadas a la maestra, la revisión de su archivo personal, los textos que se han escrito de ella y de su currículum vitae |
| English abstract | The biographical method used in this text aims at analyzing Socorro Bastida’s life history in order to reveal biographical data, family history, the schools where she studied, the ballet companies she danced with and her decision to become a professional dancer, despite family obstacles and twentieth-century prejudices. Also, it will be possible to get to know the most important ballet schools of the twentieth century and the protagonists of different ballet projects of the the twentieth and twenty-first century, as Socorro Bastida has lived and participated with dancers, teachers, and choreographers who have left their markin Mexican ballet history. Interviews with Socorro Bastida, the review of her personal files and of the texts that have been written abouther and her own resumee are among the sources of information that were used for this document |
