| Spanish abstract | El cuerpo humano es expresión, presencia, lenguaje y finitud. Somos desde nuestro cuerpo, sin embargo, esta verdad no se hace tan evidente cuando hablamos del lugar que el cuerpo ocupa en la educación superior, especialmente si tomamos como muestra el caso de la Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana-Xochimilco. Sostendremos en este artículo, con las reservas que toda generalización requiere, que el cuerpo humano, aquél que es construido y vivido simbólicamente, el que no es sólo biología, el cuerpo en el que habitamos, no es tomado en cuenta como tal en el nivel universitario. Por el contrario, se ha mostrado una gran negligencia para incorporarlo a nuestra pedagogía y aprovecharnos de su potencial como herramienta de aprendizaje. Lo que este artículo plantea es un acercamiento a cómo perciben los docentes de una institución específica esta problemática y qué elementos aportan para crear una nueva consciencia universitaria sobre el cuerpo |
| English abstract | The human body is expression, presence, language and finitude. We are from our body; nevertheless, this truth does not become so evident when we speak about the place the body occupies in higher education, specifically, if we take as a sample the case of the UAM- Xochimilco. In this research, we sustain that the human body, which is not only biology, in which we live but also is constructed and lived symbolically, is not taken in account as such at the university level. On the contrary, we find great negligence to include the human body as part of our pedagogy as a tool for learning. What this work fosters is an approach to teachers’ perceptions of a specific institution and their contribution of ideas of how to create a new university conscience about the body |
