| Spanish abstract | Este trabajo revisa la noción de antiimperialismo que puede deducirse de la lectura de algunas novelas venezolanas cuyo relato se ubica en el periodo de implantación de la industria petrolera. A tal fin, se atiende de modo particular a la presencia de nuevas tecnologías percibidas, en general, como parte de la avanzada neo colonizadora en que se convirtió, para la mayoría de los escritores venezolanos del momento, la presencia de las compañías extranjeras. Se centran estas reflexiones básicamente en tres obras: Mene de Ramón Díaz Sánchez, Mancha de aceite de Cesar Uribe Piedrahita y El señor Rasvel de Miguel Toro Rámirez, estas dos últimas, a diferencia de la primera, muy mal conocidas en el ámbito tanto venezolano como latinoamericano |
| English abstract | This paper reviews the notion of anti-imperialism that can be gleaned from some Venezuelan novels which plot goes over the implantation period of the country’s oil industry. For this purpose it is especially important the presence of new technologies perceived, by Venezuelan writers, as part of the equipment of the new colonizers represented by the oil company’s personnel. The analysis is centered primarily on three different novels: Mene, by Ramón Díaz Sánchez, Mancha de aceite by César Uribe Piedrahita and El señor Rasvel, by Miguel Toro Ramírez, the latter two, unlike the first, very little known at both Venezuela and Latin America |
