| English abstract | From a historical perspective on the Church of Santa Catarina, more specifically in the context of the creation of the Regional South 4 and the Theological Institute of Santa Catarina, this article addresses meetings and disagreements in the process of building the Catholic Church in our State. In the unceasing pursuit of unity, diversity has played an important role throughout the history of the Church.
