| Spanish abstract | Este ensayo se pregunta si existe en la producción intelectual, literaria y política de Georges Bataille una subversión del mal entendido como deseo viril por la soberanía y el poder. Para ello, se aborda la conceptualización que Bataille hizo sobre la virilidad en tres momentos distintivos de su obra. El primero es durante su militancia en el movimiento Contre-Attaque, en la cual concibió a la virilidad como una voluntad beligerante contra el fascismo. El segundo corresponde con la fundación de Acéphale y la creencia de que la virilidad implicaba la aprehensión heroica de la existencia entera y no solo aquella impuesta por la civilización moderna. Finalmente, el tercer momento es marcado por ‘la experiencia interior’, a la cual defiendo como el itinerario meditativo en el que el deseo viril se ve desarticulado. El ensayo concluye, sin embargo, planteando críticas y preguntas sobre esta misma experiencia |
| English abstract | This essay asks if there is in the intellectual, literary and political production of Georges Bataille a subversion of evil as the virile desire for sovereignty and power. To answer this, it approaches the conceptualization that Bataille did on virility in three distinctive moments of his oeuvre. The first one is during his militancy in the movement Contre-Attaque, in which he conceived virility as a belligerent will against fascism. The second one corresponds to the foundation of Acéphale and the believe that virility implied the heroic apprehension of the existence as a whole and not just the one imposed by modern civilization. Finally, the third moment is marked by the inner experience, which I defend to be the meditative itinerary in which the virile desire is subverted. The essay concludes, nonetheless, raising critiques and questions about this same experience |
