| English abstract | The the me of this article is the relationship between the capitalist mode of production and the urbanization of society. Its aim is to interpret, from the notions of “urban revolution” and “right to the city”, proposed by Henri Lefebvre, some urban transformation s in the context of crises and restructuration of the capitalist mode of production, restructuration that has important relations with society, politics, space, culture and everyday life. In this sense, it will be discussed the role of the city as a mediat ion between a distant order (of the global capital and the State) and an immediate order (of everyday life and interpersonal relations), considering the possibility of the reemerging of the city as an strategic place of the struggle for another possible re ality (utopia), possibility that is opened by the urbanization of society and by the crises of capitalism |
| Portuguese abstract | O presente artigo tem como tema as relações entre o modo capitalista de produção contemporâneo e a urbanização global da sociedade. Seu objetivo é interpretar, a partir das noções de “revolução urbana” e “direito à cidade”, propost as por Henri Lefebvre, algumas das transformações do urbano no contexto de crise e reestruturação do modo de produção capitalista das últimas décadas, reestruturação que possui importantes relações com a sociedade, a política, o espaço, a cultura e o cotid iano. Nesse sentido , se discutirá o papel da cidade como mediação entre o que Lefebvre chamou de ordem distante (aquela do capital global e do Estado) e a ordem próxima ou imediata (aquela do cotidiano, das relações interpessoais), considerando a possibili dade do ressurgimento da cidade como lugar estratégico da luta por uma outra “realidade possível” (utopia) , possibilidade aberta pela urbanização da sociedade e, igua lmente, pela crise do capitalismo |
