| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo apresenta uma análise das relações entre os temas "Pesquisa" e "Educação a Distância" (EaD), buscando identificar as articulações entre a agenda de pesquisa sobre EaD e a evolução da área. Esta modalidade educacional tornou-se um fértil terreno para investigações, especialmente depois da sua recente expansão, decorrente do desenvolvimento das tecnologias digitais de informação e comunicação. Assim, foi feita uma análise bibliométrica das produções científicas (teses de doutorado em Educação), catalogadas pelo Grupo Horizonte (UFSCar). Foram identificadas 83 teses sobre EaD, que foram analisadas detalhadamente. Os dados indicaram que a aproximação entre EaD e pesquisa ainda é tímida, mas foram encontrados indícios de que, também na EaD, a agenda de pesquisas caminha articulada com a evolução da própria área de estudo. Observou-se que a quantidade de estudos sobre EaD tem aumentado nos últimos anos, em consonância com a recente expansão da EaD, indicando a redefinição ou emergência de um campo investigativo mais maduro. Todavia, ainda carecemos de estudos mais densos sobre muitos aspectos da modalidade. |
| English abstract | This article presents an analysis of the relationships between the topics "Research" and "Distance Education" (DE), aiming to identify the links between the research agenda on DE and the evolution of the area. Distance education has become a fertile ground for investigations, especially after its recent expansion, boosted by the development of digital information and communication technologies. Thus, a bibliometric analysis on scientific production (doctoral theses in Education), cataloged by the Grupo Horizonte (UFSCar) was performed. 83 theses on DE were identified and analyzed in detail. The data showed that the approach between DE and research is still shy, but there were indications that even concerning DE, the research agenda is articulated with the evolution of its own study area. It was observed that the amount of studies on distance education has increased in recent years, in line with the recent expansion of distance education, indicating the redefinition or emergence of a more mature investigative field. However, we still lack denser studies on many aspects of distance education. |
