| Spanish abstract | En este artículo presentamos los resultados de una investigación en la que se muestran las características de las respuestas que un grupo de estudiantes aportó al utilizar el CAS (Computer Algebra System) Derive cuando trabajaron un conjunto de prácticas de laboratorio (PL) para el aprendizaje del concepto de integral definida. Del análisis de los resultados se obtienen elementos para conjeturar que los estudiantes no muestran dificultades al calcular integrales de funciones continuas, a la vez que las interpretan como el área bajo la gráfica de una función. Sin embargo, cuando las funciones son solamente continuas a trozos, o se trata de integrales que provienen de otro contexto, los estudiantes muestran dificultades que requieren un análisis de los aspectos cognitivos que se relacionan con el uso de un software |
| English abstract | In this paper we present the research results showing the main features of the students' answers to a set of laboratory practices (LP) when they use the CAS (Computer Algebra System) Derive. From the research results analysis we obtain elements to allow us conjecture that students do not have difficulties when calculating definite integrals of continuous functions and at the same time they interpret this as the area under a curve. However, when the functions are only piecewise continuous, or the integrals come from other contexts, the students show difficulties, related to the use of a software, that need to be analysed from a cognitive point of view |
