Spanish abstract | Hemileia vastatrix es una enfermedad destructiva a nivel mundial que aqueja a los productores y exportadores de café de México. El objetivo fue evaluar la incidencia y severidad de la roya del café, posterior a la aplicación de productos comerciales en dos variedades de café, Típica y Caturra, en Atoyac de Álvarez Guerrero. Se evaluaron cinco extractos vegetales comerciales a dosis de 2.25 L ha-1 y el testigo. Se realizaron siete aplicaciones, a intervalos de 21 días. La media de severidad más alta fue en el testigo variedad Típica con 61.87%, se observó una reducción significativa de la severidad en todos los extractos evaluados, los menores registros en ambas variedades se tuvieron en los tratamientos de Cinnamomum verum y Citrus sinensis, con 15.47 y 19.68% y 4.73 y 4.00% para Típica y Caturra, respectivamente; por lo que son una alternativa para reducir la severidad de la roya del café |
English abstract | Hemileia vastatrix is a destructive disease worldwide that afflicts coffee producers and exporters in Mexico. The objective was to evaluate the incidence and severity of coffee rust after the application of commercial products in two varieties of coffee, Típica and Caturra, in Atoyac de Álvarez Guerrero. We evaluated five commercial plant extracts at doses of 2.25 L ha-1 and the control. Seven applications were made, at 21-day intervals. The highest mean severity was in the Típica variety control with 61.87%. A significant reduction in severity was observed in all extracts evaluated, and the lowest records in both varieties were in the Cinnamomum verum and Citrus sinensis treatments, with 15.47 and 19.68% and 4.73 and 4.00% for Típica and Caturra, respectively; therefore, they are an alternative to reduce the severity of coffee rust |
