| English abstract | Both in A costa dos murmúrios, by the Portuguese writer Lídia Jorge, and in Terra sonâmbula, by Mia Couto, from Mozambique, the conflicts experienced by individuals during the war for the independence of Mozambique (Africa), which took place between 1965 and 1975, are exposed. In the Portuguese novel, the war horrors are seen through the eyes of the wife of a Portuguese official who finds in her writing a way to overcome the awful things she discovers. In Mia Couto's novel the war is seen through the eyes of a boy who, during the war, finds the diary of another boy who is also a victim of the recent conflicts in the country. The links between these two novels about the traumatic war experience and the subsequent uprooting of the individual in a troubled world are established by the actual writing, in the case of the former, and by obtaining the writing, in the case of the latter |
| Portuguese abstract | Em A costa dos murmúrios, da portuguesa Lídia Jorge, e Terra sonâmbula, do moçambicano Mia Couto, lêem-se os conflitos do sujeito em meio à guerra pela independência de Moçambique (África), ocorrida entre os anos 1965-1975. No romance português, o horror da guerra é visto pela esposa de um oficial português que tem, na escrita, um meio para sobreviver às terríveis descobertas que faz. No romance moçambicano, a guerra é vista por um menino que, em meio aos conflitos, encontra um diário de outro menino vitimado pelos recentes conflitos em seu país. A produção de uma escrita, no primeiro caso, e a recepção da escrita, no segundo, são os elos entre esses romances que versam sobre a terrível experiência da guerra e o consequente desenraizamento do sujeito num mundo conturbado |
