| Resumen en inglés | This paper aims at investigating Jorge Luis Borges’ narrative "Las ruinas circulares", that composes his book Ficciones, pointing out some of the author’s forerunners in the reading interstices of his own fictional narrative. From this perspective, it seeks to find out how he allows us to predict, through their literary texts, his theory about the Fantastic in Spanish American literature. Reading Borges specially led us to a new reading of the Greek philosopher Plato - specifically the book VII of The Republic - beyond fiction writers Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa and other authors who are here referenced. Being present in the studied narrative, oneiric aspects cause the destabilization of order and naturalness, elements responsible for introducing the Fantastic modality in the text |
| Resumen en portugués | Este artigo analisa Ficciones através da narrativa “Las ruinas circulares” apontando alguns dos precursores de seu autor, Jorge Luis Borges, nos interstícios da leitura de sua própria ficção narrativa. Nessa perspectiva, busca desvendar a forma como o ficcionista permite-nos antever, através de seus textos literários, sua teoria sobre o Fantástico na literatura hispano-americana. A leitura de Borges conduziu-nos, em especial, à releitura do filósofo grego Platão - mais especificamente do livro VII de A República – além dos ficcionistas Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra, Gabriel García Márquez, Mario Vargas Llosa e demais autores aqui referendados. Aspectos oníricos presentes na narrativa em estudo provocam a desestabilização da ordem e da naturalidade, elementos que instauram o Fantástico no texto |
