| Spanish abstract | En este artículo sondearé, tanto la canalización del dolor como el estancamiento del sufrimiento en los pensamientos de Schopenhauer y De Quincey, respectivamente. En el caso del literato inglés veremos que es opuesto en términos éticos al desenlace vivencial tanto de la conciencia mejor, como la negación de la voluntad de vivir, puesto que, mientras los placeres del opio fluyen tras sueños que se transforman en terribles sufrimientos, el dolor en Schopenhauer es sublimado hasta ser convertido en el δεύτερος πλοῦς de su ética |
| English abstract | In this paper, I shall explore the channeling of pain and the blockage of suffering in the thoughts of Schopenhauer and De Quincey respectively. In the case of the English writer, I shall show that his view is opposite in ethical terms to the existential outcome both of the better conscience and of the denial of the will to live, since while the pleasures of the opium flow after dreams that are transformed into terrible sufferings, the pain, in Schopenhauer, is sublimated until it is transformed in the δεύτερος πλοῦς of his ethics |
