| Spanish abstract | La cosmovisión de la tradición mesoamericana concibe a todas las criaturas del mundo (astros, elementos, minerales, vegetales, animales, hombres) como seres animados. La razón de la atribución descansa en el origen divino de los seres mundanos, que guardan en su interior una divinidad, misma que fue la creadora de la clase desde el principio del mundo. Si se parte de esta idea, surge la pregunta de cuáles son las figuras de dioses interiores cuando se encuentran en un estado de carencia de la cobertura mundana. | English abstract | Traditional Mesoamerican cosmovision conceives all creatures of the world (heavenly bodies, elements, minerals, vegetables, animals and people) as animated entities. The reason for this attribution rests on the divine origin of worldly beings, which carry a deity inside, the same one that created their class at the beginning of the world. If we follow this idea, the question arises of what would be the shape of those internal deities when devoid of their worldly covering. This essay tries to give an answer to that question on the basis of iconographic, documental and ethnographic sources |
