| Spanish abstract | A comienzos de 2017 Rebecca Tuvel publicó un texto intitulado In Defense of Transracialism; éste defendía que las razones que tenemos para aceptar la transgeneridad/transexualidad debían llevarnos a aceptar la transracialidad como posibilidad, puesto que la ontología del género y la de la raza compartían dos elementos fundamentales: la autoidentificación y el etiquetamiento por parte de terceros. En el presente trabajo se cuestiona la validez de tal extrapolación, al señalar que conduce a análisis metafísicos y políticos que ignoran la historicidad y la materialidad que caracterizan a las diversas categorías así homologadas. Por tal razón, se cuestiona críticamente cierta tendencia que ha igualado diversas ontologías sociales, al tiempo que se enfatizan otros enfoques metafísicos que no incurren en estas problemáticas |
| English abstract | In early 2017 Rebecca Tuvel published a paper entitled In Defense of Transracialism; this text claimed that the available reasons supporting transgenderism/transsexualism should lead us to accept transracialism as a possibility, given that both the ontologies of race and gender share two fundamental elements: self-identification and a third-party labeling. In this paper the validity of this extrapolation is disputed in light of the metaphysical and political shortcomings it implies by disregarding the historicity and materiality of these categories. Hence, the critical tone of this paper when discussing a certain tendency to homologize a diversity of social ontologies, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, the emphasis on different metaphysical analyses wherein these limitations don’t seem to rise |
