| Spanish abstract | Entre los territorios que hoy conocemos como Mesoamérica y Aridoamérica, se tiende una barrera ecológica. El índice de precipitación disminuye conforme avanzamos hacia el norte; con él decrecen también el verdor de la tierra y la feracidad del suelo; los recursos agrícolas son cada vez menores y el riesgo de perder las cosechas aumenta. Los medios de subsistencia del hombre deben, por tanto, cambiar. La atracción de las riquezas agrícolas por un lado y las fuentes de minerales por otro, son parte de una simbiosis que motiva el intercambio, encuentro y migración de grupos humanos que tienen una distinta manera de ver lo que sucede a su alrededor |
| English abstract | Between the territories we call today Mesoamerica and Aridamerica, there is a huge ecologic barrier. The rainfall diminishes as we go north and together with it the green earth and the feracity of the soil; the agriculture production becomes more and more scarce and the risk of loosing the harvests increases. The subsistence means of man must therefore change. The attraction caused by the agricultural goods and the sources of minerals, are both part of the reasons for exchange, encounters and migrations between human groups with different views on their surroundings |
