| Spanish abstract | El objetivo de este ensayo consiste en presentar los rasgos característicos tanto del imperio español como del imperio lusitano tras su encuentro con los pueblos asentados en las tierras del Nuevo Mundo. Esto mismo nos permite identifi car algunos aspectos de prominentes imperios como lo fueron el azteca, el inca, pero también un tercero, muy relevante en el continente, pero poco estudiado desde el enfoque geopolítico como el chibcha, ubicado sobre los actuales territorios de Colombia y Venezuela. Asimismo, se trata de un aná- lisis que nos permite dilucidar los criterios geopolíticos que implementaron no sólo los exploradores españoles, sino también los lusitanos sobre el espacio de conquista del Brasil, cuya evolución territorial a través del tiempo, dará como resultado la conformación de un impresionante Heartland, ubicado en la Amé- rica del Sur |
| English abstract | Th e goal of this paper is to set up some characteristics of both the Spanish and the Lusitanian empires during their colonization process in the New World. Also, the issues underlined could allow us to identify some prominent aspects of the great regional empires, such as the Aztec, the Inca, but also a third and very important in the continent, but little studied from the geopolitical approach, the Chibcha, located in the present territories of Colombia and Venezuela. Also, it is an analysis that allows to elucidate the geopolitical criteria implemented both by Spanish and Lusitanian in the space conquest of Brazil, whose territorial evolution over the colonized period resulted in an impressive country in the heartland in South America |
