| English abstract | We propose, within the limits of this document, approach the analysis that Richard Rorty do of contemporary philosophy from the relationship between epistemology and hermeneutics. With this analysis we intend to identify a possible role for philosophy and philosophers from Rorty's perspective. Structured this document in three topics: the first, following the footsteps of Rorty, we reconstruct the conception of epistemologically centered philosophy that developed in modernity from the Cartesian cogitate, the sensuality of Locke and the idea of basic discipline proposed by Kant. In the second topic, we analyzed the approach and distinction between epistemology and hermeneutics made by Rorty systematically in one of the chapters of his work Philosophy and the mirror of nature. As final considerations we will analyze Rorty's distinction between systematic philosophy and edifying philosophy, and the role of philosophy and philosophers from that perspective |
| Portuguese abstract | Nos propomos, nos limites do presente ensaio, abordar a análise que Richard Rorty faz da filosofia contemporânea a partir da relação entre a epistemologia e a hermenêutica. Com esta análise pretendemos identificar um possível papel para a filosofia e os filósofos a partir da perspectiva rortiana. Estruturamos o ensaio em três tópicos: no primeiro, seguindo os passos de Rorty, reconstruímos a concepção de filosofia epistemologicamente centrada que se desenvolveu na modernidade a partir do cogito cartesiano, do sensualismo de Locke e da ideia de disciplina fundamental proposta por Kant. No segundo tópico, analisamos a aproximação e distinção entre epistemologia e hermenêutica feita por Rorty de maneira sistemática em um dos capítulos do seu Filosofia e o espelho da natureza. Como considerações finais analisaremos a distinção feita por Rorty entre filosofia sistemática e filosofia edificante e o papel da filosofia e dos filósofos a partir dessa perspectiva |
