Spanish abstract | Carlos Marx, como buen europeo del siglo XIX, crítico de la burguesía, pero al mismo tiempo deslumbrado por la capacidad de transformación de toda la realidad ejemplifi cada en la Revolución Industrial, entiende la civilización y el desarrollo histórico solo sobre cánones europeos y critica a Simón Bolívar por considerarlo como un representante de las aristocracias latinoamericanas deseosas de administrar los territorios del antiguo imperio español. En otras palabras, Marx no es capaz de comprender que Latinoamérica pueda tener un destino fuera del control europeo |
English abstract | This paper addresses how Karl Marx, an XIXth Century European, a critic of the bourgeoisie, but also amazed by his ability to transform all of reality as exemplifi ed by the Industrial Revolution, understand civilization and historical development only from European standards and criticizes Simon Bolivar as a representative of the Latin American aristocracies willing to administer the territories of the former Spanish empire. In other words, Marx can not understand that Latin America can be a future outside the European control |
