| Spanish abstract | El artículo trata los desafíos que enfrenta la Universidad de Cienfuegos en el campo sociocultural, como parte de su accionar proactivo en el contexto de los nuevos paradigmas que impone el siglo XXI. Se exponen las principales operacionalidades de la cultura de esta época, los derroteros del conocimiento científico, la investigación y la innovación, relacionadas con las cosmovisiones del estudiante universitario de este siglo. Se informan las estrategias que desarrolla esta casa de altos estudios ante los desafíos específicos que se manifiestan en su contexto, entre el concierto de los que a nivel mundial enfrentan todas las universidades. Se recomiendan acciones para nuevos campos de trabajo a los que está abocada en el área económica, de innovación, investigación y desarrollo. A partir de los postulados de la Conferencia Mundial de Educación Superior, de acuerdo a las particularidades de la institución cienfueguera, se explica cómo se enfrentan los desafíos declarados en ella por la Organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Educación, la Ciencia y la Cultura |
| English abstract | The article treats the challenges that it faces the University of Cienfuegos in the sociocultural field, like part of its to work proactive in the context of the new paradigms that imposes the XXI century. The main characteristic of the culture of this time is exposed, the courses of the scientific knowledge, the investigation and the innovation, related with the mentalities of the university student of this century. The strategies are informed that develops this house of high studies before the specific challenges that are manifested in their context, among the concert of those that face all the universities at world level. Actions are recommended for new work fields to those that is met in the economic area, of innovation, investigation and development. Starting from the postulates of the World Conference of Superior Education, according to the particularities of the institution in Cienfuegos, it is explained how they face the challenges declared in the Conference by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization |
