| Spanish abstract | El presente artículo tiene como objetivo central explicar las potencialidades educativas que ofrece la herramienta de gestión de aprendizaje Moodle, un recurso tecnológico que sirve de complemento para cumplir la función docente universitaria a la par con la evolución de las Tecnologías de la Información y Comunicación (TIC). Para la investigación se tomó como caso de estudio a la Universidad Tecnológica Israel, y en la misma se resaltan las oportunidades en cuanto a su aplicación no sólo por la influencia que impacta notoriamente en el alumno sino también todas las ventajas que aporta a los profesores desde la creación de un aula de aprendizaje virtual, la incorporación de múltiples recursos didácticos, la actualización permanente de los contenidos de la asignatura, el seguimiento y monitoreo de las actividades efectuadas por los estudiantes. Por otra parte, la metodología utilizada fue la investigación documental mediante el método del análisis de contenido que generó las siguientes conclusiones: la Moodle permite el proceso de desarrollo de enseñanza-aprendizaje bajo la modalidad presencial, semipresencial y a distancia; su administración es muy sencilla, pero demanda que el docente tenga nociones básicas sobre la misma para construir conocimientos pertinentes con las realidades de quien aprende |
| English abstract | The main objective of this article is to explain the educational potential offered by the Moodle learning management tool, a technological resource that serves as a complement to fulfill the university teaching function at the same time as the evolution of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in the formation of citizens of the 21st century, who are natives of this digital society. For the investigation, the Technological University of Israel was taken as a case study, and in it, the opportunities are highlighted in terms of its application, not only because of the influence that notoriously impacts on the student but also all the advantages that it brings to teachers; from the creation of a virtual learning classroom, the incorporation of multiple teaching resources, the permanent updating of the subject’s contents, the follow up and monitoring of the activities carried out by the students. On the other hand, the methodology used was documentary research through the content analysis method that generated the following conclusions: universities are increasingly incorporating the Moodle platform in the Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies courses that are offered to the student population, as it allows the teaching-learning development process under the face-to-face, blended and distance modality. In addition, it facilitates self-directed learning according to the pace of the participant; gives cooperative learning in a shared cyberspace. Therefore, its administration is very simple, but demands that the teacher has basic notions about Moodle to build relevant knowledge with the realities of the learner |
