| Spanish abstract | El incremento de los estándares estéticos en odontolo-gía ha dado lugar a las carillas de porcelana debido a su atractiva estética, así como su durabilidad y biocompa-tibilidad, las carillas de porcelana se han convertido en el tratamiento estándar para los dientes anteriores. Este estudio tuvo como objetivo investigar el resultado clínico y la tasa de supervivencia de las carillas cementadas en la clínica UCSG en el año 2016. El estudio clínico obser-vacional y transversal se examinaron 33 pacientes aten-didos en la Clínica de la UCSG en el semestre A-B 2016, 102 carillas en total fueron evaluadas bajo los parámetros establecidos por el Servicio de Salud Pública de Estados Unidos. En el estudio se observaron resultados igual al de Fradeani en el cual se vio que el sellado marginal y la integridad de la carilla seguían en óptimo estado con un 80% de éxito. Las carillas son una buena opción de restauraciones mínimamente invasiva con buenos pro-nósticos a futuro como lo pudo demostrar el estudio, al ver que ninguna de las carillas analizadas se fracturan y que todas las carillas tuvieron un muy buen porcentaje en la coincidencia de color y un buen sellado marginal, y solo el 14% de los pacientes presentaron sensibilidad post operatoria |
| English abstract | The increase in aesthetic standards in dentistry has led to porcelain veneers due to their attractive aesthetics, as well as their durability and biocompatibility, porcelain ve-neers have become the standard treatment for anterior teeth.This study had as objective to investigate the clinical result and the survival rate of the cemented veneers in the UCSG clinic in the year 2016. It was an observational cli-nical study and transversal were examined 33 patients at-tended in the Clinic of the UCSG in the semester AB 2016, 102 veneers in total were evaluated under the parameters established by the United States Public Health Service. In the study results were observed equal to that of Fradeani in which it was observed that the marginal sealing and the integrity of the veneer remained in optimum state with an 80% success. The veneers are a good option of minima-lly invasive restorations with good forecasts for the future as the study could demonstrate, seeing that none of the veneers analyzed fracture and that all veneers had a very good percentage in the color matching and a good mar-ginal sealing, and only 14% of patients presented post-operative sensitivity |
