| Spanish abstract | El presente trabajo aborda una revisión crítica del concepto de poder desarrollado por Michel Foucault con la finalidad de verificar su posible vigencia en el marco sociopolítico actual. Para la consecución de ese propósito, se revisaron diversos conceptos de poder a fin de compararlos con el manejado por el autor. Además se identificaron las posibles fuentes de poder social y se intento una posible explicación del poder actual en el marco de los elementos teóricos aportados por Foucault. La metodología utilizada fue la de una interpretación mediante recursos hermenéuticos, tomando como base las principales obras del autor, sin menoscabo de otros autores relacionados, bien sea por su aporte crítico o por nuevos derroteros conceptuales alrededor del tema. En conclusión, se estima que las definiciones y aportes del filósofo francés tienen aplicación dentro de los nuevos esquemas teóricos actualmente en boga y facilitan la comprensión de las relaciones de dominación relacionadas con el ejercicio y concepto de poder |
| English abstract | This paper tackles with a critical review of the concept of power developed by Michel Foucault in order to verify its possible effect on the current sociopolitical context. To achieve this purpose, various concepts of power were reviewed in order to compare them with the ones used by the author. It is also identified the potential sources of social power and a possible explanation of the current power is sought in the context of the theoretical elements provided by Foucault. The methodology used was interpreted using hermeneutic resources, based on the author’s major works, without affecting in any way other authors involved, either because of their critical role or due to new conceptual courses around the theme. In conclusion, it is estimated that the definitions and contributions of the French philosopher are applicable within new theoretical frameworks currently in vogue and make easy the understanding of relations of domination associated with the practice and concept of power |
