| Spanish abstract | Las políticas culturales públicas han transformado la percepción y el trato hacia los grupos indígenas en México durante los últimos 30 años. A partir de las modificaciones en la Constitución, las leyes estatales y la creación y/o transformación de organismos e instituciones encargados de atender de manera específica o vinculada a los grupos indígenas, el tema forma parte de la esfera pública y de la construcción del concepto de nación pluricultural. Las manifestaciones tradicionales de las culturas indígenas son la base de las negociaciones entre estos grupos y el Estado, con el objetivo de dar continuidad al discurso nacionalista que ha producido el reconocimiento de su patrimonio cultural inmaterial, como herencia de los mexicanos. Además, la alineación con las políticas de organismos internacionales ha propiciado que más allá de una política social, se busque el aprovechamiento de los recursos simbólicos para la promoción del desarrollo sustentable |
| English abstract | Public cultural policies have transformed the perception and treatment of indigenous groups in Mexico in the last thirty years. Based on modifications in the constitution, state laws and the creation or transformation of organizations and institutions in charge of providing specific or linked services to indigenous groups, the issue is part of the public sphere and of the construction of the concept of a multicultural nation. The traditional manifestations characteristic of the different indigenous cultures is the basis of the negotiations between these groups and the state to give continuity to the nationalist discourse that has produced the recognition of their intangible cultural heritage as the heritage of all Mexicans. In addition, the alignment with the policies of international organizations has led to the use of symbolic resources to promote sustainable development, beyond a social policy |
