| Spanish abstract | Superar la condición de pobreza en un entorno urbano se ha convertido en acción de muchos y meta de pocos. El presente artículo gira en torno al capital social como herramienta para superar la condición de pobreza urbana; confianza, acción colectiva, redes y reciprocidad fueron las cuatro dimensiones sobre las cuales dicho término fue conceptualizado. Dentro de esta aportación, la pobreza es definida con base en el ingreso mensual reportado por cada unidad familiar. Se concluye que la pobreza no puede superarse solo con el ingreso económico, sino que son necesarias las redes de apoyo en la comunidad dentro de un marco de confianza y reciprocidad. | English abstract | Overcoming the condition of poverty in an urban environment has become an action of many involved and goal that few have achieved. The relationship that exists between social capital as a tool used to overcome the condition of urban poverty. Confidence, collective action, networks and reciprocity were the four dimensions on which social capital was conceptualized. Poverty was defined based on the monthly income reported by each family unit; from this relationship and analysis resulted some conclusions, one of them is that poverty cannot be overcome only with monetary income, it is necessary that the support networks that are in the community can be established within a framework of trust and reciprocity. The work was carried out based on the experience of the inhabitants of the town of Santa Fe in the Álvaro Obregón delegation of the old Federal District, now Mexico City |
