| Spanish abstract | Preservar el conocimiento y las formas de cultura, además de tener el acceso a la información, ha ido transformándose en cada época. Los sitios de dicha actividad van desde lugares artesanales hasta imponentes edificaciones, razón por la cual este proceso ha llevado al fortalecimiento de las bibliotecas. El objetivo del presente artículo es presentar una descripción de la biblioteca desde la Antigüedad y su trascendental importancia en las civilizaciones, atravesando la Edad Media, caracterizada por el predomino de la vida rural sobre la urbana, con el fin de tener un referente histórico para posteriormente indagar los aspectos intelectuales influyentes en la creación de la imprenta y su autoridad con respecto al conocimiento e importancia en el desarrollo de la cultura |
| English abstract | Preserving the knowledge and ways of culture, as well as having access to the information, is a task that has changed with time. The places where this activity takes place range from traditional to impressive buildings, which is why this process has led to strengthening libraries. The objective of the present article is to show a description of libraries, ranging from Ancient Times and their importance to civilizations, going through the Middle Age, known by the predominance of rural life, in order to have a historical reference with aims to questioning the intellectual aspects that influenced the creation of the printing press and its relationship to knowledge and the importance in the development of culture |
