| Spanish abstract | Este trabajo analiza la evolución del cambio de la productividad total de factores para la industria manufacturera hidalguense a nivel de subsector y por zona metropolitana, mediante la técnica no paramétrica Índice de Malmquist, para el período de 1989 a 2009. Dado que la actividad industrial en el estado se caracteriza por producir bienes con bajo valor agregado, los cambios positivos en la productividad manufacturera en el período de estudio se espera sean conducidos favorablemente por el efecto del cambio en eficiencia técnica y, en menor proporción, por el efecto del cambio tecnológico |
| English abstract | This paper analyzes the evolution of change in total factor productivity for hidalguense manufacturing industry by subsector and metropolitan area, using the nonparametric technique called Malmquist Index, for the period 1989 to 2009. Since industrial activity in the state is characterized by producing goods with low value added, positive changes in manufacturing productivity in the study period are expected to be positively driven by the effect of the change in technical efficiency and by the effect of technological change |
