English abstract | Globalization processes are not limited to a competition for market opportunities and better economic growth rates; neither do they only refer to the liberalization of international trade or the deregulation of global financial markets. Globalization is here defined as a political order that displays a field of new conflicts based on economic, cultural and social relationships wherein transnational social movements reaffirm a new politics located beyond conventional institutions. In this article, the author analyses the anti/alterglobalist movement and the last edition of the World Social Forum held in Nairobi (2007) based on the following assumption: transnational social movements and networks of political activists are key players in contemporary world politics, since they are the expression of a new social subject, sovereignty-free and organized through transnational de-reterritorialized networks |
