| Portuguese abstract | Este artigo propõe uma interpretação acerca do embate entre intelecto e vontade na Dialética erística de Schopenhauer. Apresentamos a problemática advinda da crítica que esse pensador faz à faculdade de conhecimento humana, sobretudo à concepção que atribui a essa faculdade um status ontológico superior em relação às demais funções do organismo em seu conjunto, e propomos que a concepção de conhecimento em Schopenhauer comporta um proto-perspectivismo, ao supor que o intelecto seja direcionado pela vontade. Por fim, consideramos acerca da possibilidade de serem alcançadas verdades objetivas para além dos direcionamentos que a vontade impõe ao intelecto. |
| English abstract | This paper proposes an interpretation of the struggle between intellect and will in Schopenhauer"s Eristic Dialectics. We present a problem arising from his criticism of the human faculty of knowledge, especially from a conception which imputes to this faculty a higher ontological status concerning the functions of the organism as a whole. We further propose that Schopenhauer"s conception about knowledge implicitly involves a proto-perspectivism, by supposing that intellect is driven by the will. At the end, we consider the possibility of grasping objective truths beyond the directions the will imposes on the intellect. |
