| Portuguese abstract | Este trabalho propõe suscitar uma discussão em torno dos múltiplos enfoques sob os quais as categorias de gênero têm sido analisadas pelos domínios historiográficos, notadamente nas vertentes da história social, nos domínios da história cultural, nas pesquisas pós-estruturalistas e, mais recentemente, pelos historiadores do ambiente. Explicitando os limites e as perspectivas desses estudos no interior de cada paradigma histórico, ressaltar-se-á a importância da incorporação da perspectiva de gênero pelas ciências humanas e sociais, especialmente pela disciplina de história, para construir sociedades sustentadas, com cidadania, justiça socioambiental e equidade |
