| English abstract | This investigation wishes to recover some of the propositions, questions and meanings of the feminine education in São Paulo–Brazil, between 1850 and 1900. From this moment on, women began to be appreciated for them selves and for their actions in children education at home and at school. Feminine education started to be considered fundamental for the physical and moral perfectioning of women, mothers, families and therefore the future generations of the country. That made the struggle for feminine education expand, envolving different social agents and becoming explicit in the national press |
| Portuguese abstract | Essa investigação se propõe a recuperar algumas propostas, questões e sentido sobre a educação feminina em São Paulo–Brasil, no período de 1850-1900. A partir desse momento passaram a valorizar as mulheres e suas ações na educação das crianças em casa e também nas escolas. A educação feminina passou a ser considerada fundamental para o aperfeiçoamento físico e moral da mulher, da mãe, da família e das futuras gerações do país. Dessa forma, a luta pela educação feminina se expande envolvendo diferentes agentes sociais e tornando-se explícita na imprensa |
