English abstract We studied theoretically the effect of flexoelectricity on the behavior of dielectric fluctuations of antiferroelectric liquid crystals (AFLCs) influenced by the mechanical distortion associated with flexoelectric effect. By using the appropriate free energy and the Landau-Ginzburg equation, we found an approximate expression of dielectric permittivity, which was strongly influenced by the existence of flexoelectric polarization for both in-phase and anti-phase motions. Consequently, the corresponding dielectric strength for both in-phase and anti-phase motions were varied due to the existence of flexoelectric polarization
