| Resumen en inglés | It is through reading that we can interact with the different epochs, customs and cultures, thus being able to relate themes transmitted in previous centuries, but which remain alive in today's society. Therefore it can be said that reading does not constitute a solitary, individual act, but rather, it makes the reader feel part of the social construct. The central objective of this study is to propose a Reading Project, from the book "The Sun is for Everyone" original title "ToKill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee (1960) is a contemporary classic that presents a story with controversial themes as social prejudice , racism and conformity to injustice, and using metaphors and symbologies that help to understand the message brought by history. The presented project focuses on practicing skills and strategies in the training of the proficient reader so that they can construct and understand the meanings of the text. In order to achieve this objective, some reflections on the social conception of reading will be necessary, which is of fundamental importance for the effective formation of the citizen and to define what is meaningful reading and the training of the proficient reader. Given the above, it is questionable, would it be possible to train proficient readers in the university from reading projects? As discussion will be presented the importance of the constant mediation of the teacher with regard to the activation of the cognitive aspects of the potential reader. As a result of the research the student is expected to understand that reading is a process of interaction between author / reader and that involves the processes of meaning and significance, the meaning being tied to what will change the subject's life after reading a certain text. | Resumen en portugués | É por meio da leitura que podemos interagir com as diferentes épocas, costumes e culturas podendo assim, relacionar temas transmitidos em séculos anteriores, mas que permanecem vivos na sociedade atual. Por isso pode-se afirmar que a leitura não se constitui em um ato solitário, individual, mas sim, faz com que o leitor se sinta partícipe do constructo social. O objetivo central deste estudo é propor um Projeto de leitura, a partir do livro “O Sol é para Todos” título original “ToKill a Mockingbird” de Harper Lee (1960) é um clássico contemporâneo que apresenta uma história com temas controversos como preconceito social, racismo e conformismo com a injustiça e, utilizando-se de metáforas e simbologias que ajudam a compreender a mensagem trazida pela história. O projeto apresentado tem como foco exercitar habilidades e estratégias na formação do leitor proficiente para que este consiga construir e compreender os sentidos do texto. Para a efetivação do objetivo apresentado serão necessárias algumas reflexões no que tange apontar a concepção social de leitura, sendo esta de fundamental importância para a formação efetiva do cidadão e definir o que é a leitura significativa e a formação do leitor proficiente. Diante do exposto questiona-se, seria possível formar leitores proficientes na universidade a partir de projetos de leitura? Como discussão será apresentada a importância da constante mediação do professor no que diz respeito ao acionamento dos aspectos cognitivos do leitor em potencial. Como resultado da pesquisa espera-se que o aluno entenda que a leitura é um processo de interação entre autor/leitor e que envolve os processos de significado e significação, estando a significação atrelada àquilo que vai mudar a vida do sujeito após a leitura de um determinado texto.
