| Spanish abstract | El Dr. José de Jesús González ilustre médico oftalmólogo ejerció la medicina en León, Guanajuato a principios del siglo XX. Trabajó intensamente para prevenir la ceguera provocada por la oftalmía purulenta (primera causa de ceguera en México). Publicó un libro jubilar al cumplir 25 años de su titulación como médico, se trata de una recopilación de artículos sobre oftalmología y neurología. Así mismo publicó un libro sobre higiene visual escolar, por el cual se hizo acreedor a una medalla en la Feria Iberoamericana de Sevilla (1929-1930). | English abstract | Dr. José de Jesús González eminent ophthalmologist, in Leon, Guanajuato at the beginning of the 20th century. He worked to prevent blindness caused by purulent ophthalmia, which was the first cause of blindness in México at that time. He published a book in commemoration of the 25th anniversary of his graduation as physician, which was a compilation of ophthalmology and neurology. He also published a book on eyesight hygiene in school age children for which he won a medal in the Sevillan Iberoamerican Fair in the years 1929-1930.
